The Foundation

Fonden CBS Academic Housing was founded in 2001 as a commercial foundation with the aim of offering housing to foreign students and visiting researchers at CBS in Copenhagen.

The foundation goes by the names “CBS Boligfond” and “Boligfonden”.

In conjunction with the establishment, the foundation acquired a property on Kongens Tværvej with 18 student apartments. In subsequent years, the capacity has been expanded and adapted to CBS’ needs through purchases, sales and rentals.

Since 2012, the foundation has handled all residential letting and operating functions for CBS.

Objective

The foundation must support the realisation of CBS’ internationalisation strategy and contribute to the development of Copenhagen as an international education and research centre.

Principles

Fonden CBS Academic Housing develops its capacity of rooms and apartments by building or purchasing suitable and well-situated properties.

The foundation will maintain and develop the quality of its property so that the residents will have satisfactory and up-to-date housing, while the value of the property continues to follow market developments.

When acquiring or constructing properties, it is a prerequisite that a share of the original cost is financed by donation. The purpose hereby is to be able to offer housing at a reasonable rent, while still maintaining the financial base for the foundation.

The foundation can undertake the operation and maintenance of externally owned student residences that primarily house international students at CBS.

The foundation cannot become financially involved in such properties
